If you ever ask someone been to Taiwan, what leaves him (only to guys) the most impression, I think for sure he wil tell you is the Bing Lang Mei 槟榔妹, why? You see it yourself.... (contributed by a reader who claims just returned from Taiwan)
Frankly speaking, I don't why only the those selling 槟榔 in this way, is it because they can earn more by it? If not, those selling any other things can do the similar too.

not just bin lang many also sell cigarettes coca cola maybe beer but it cost more tan in a 7-11.
Taxis often buy bin lang
BTW many are (as a pal of mine use to say) good from far but far from good, meaning up close many are not as sexy as tey look from far away.
