Now the melamine is not far away from us, it is in the biscuits from Malaysia! And those brands you can found in Singapore! So do pay attention!
Eighteen types of biscuits from two household brands, Khong Guan and Khian Guan, are tainted with melamine. The source of contamination is not the milk used but the leavening agent, ammonium bicarbonate, imported from China. Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai announced the findings yesterday after 18 out of 47 samples from both brands tested positive for melamine.

Health authorities today took samples of products manufactured by the Julie’s Crackers factory following Taiwanese news reports that some Julie’s Butter Crackers imported from Malaysia contained melamine exceeding local standards.
