Timbre, champion of Singapore music, with its outlet at Timbre @ The Substation, the eclectic alfresco bar and restaurant, comes together with Jack and Rai (of EIC) to develop and programme a six-month long singer-songwriter series - a platform to showcase musicians with original compositions, handpicked specifically by Jack and Rai for their ingenuity and talents.
EIC mixes it all up, blends it together and serves it like no other. With individual backgrounds and influences as diverse as imaginable, EIC has managed to perfect its delicate balancing act and hone itself as a cutting edge band with the twin kockout vocal combination of Jack & Rai. EIC is confident and fresh enough to push the boundaries, yet familiar and warm to win over the most discerning of listeners. Jack & Rai recently released their debut self-penned album, making the the transition from cover band to original artists. Album "in stores now!" is the result of a year of planning, conceptualising and recording. Comprising of eleven tracks, each relate their honest stories and experiences in the free-spirited style people have come to be familiar with at their live gigs.
A relatively new artist in the music scene, Trent WIliiams is already starting to make a name for himself not only in his hometown Perth, but also in other states of Australia. The launch of his five-track EP 'Holding on to You' already sees two songs from it becoming award finalists in the Western Australian Music Industry Song of the Year Gospel and Love categories.
Dates: Every first Wednesday of the month commencing from October 2008 for six months.
Venue: Timbre @ the Substation
